Isabel McClain, an expert on housing policy and legislative/systemic advocacy, reports on what happened at the 2024 Virginia General Assembly with respect to housing bills along with her vision for the long and short-term future of housing reform in our state. She suggests possible future roles for local, state-wide, and federal governments along with nonprofits and members of the concerned public. Elisabeth Chaves, from Virginia Organizing, presents case studies involving tenants' rights from Southwest Virginia, focusing on habitability, eviction, and homelessness. Eric Chapman discuses the role of Community Housing Partners Corporation in responding to the crisis in low-income housing.
